Topology optimization is an iterative method where material is relocated in the design space to achieve a specified objective when subjected to design loads and constraints.
In eVolve, optimization is performed utilizing finite element simulations to compute the sensitivity of material distribution with changes to the objective.
eVolve contains several design objectives including stiffness maximization and stress minimization optimized components. Several traditional subtractive and additive manufacturing design constraints are employed to ensure designs are manufacturable.
eVolve is unique in its capability to accommodate design for transient loads in addition to the more typical static analysis, making it especially effective when inertial loads are critical.
